We are a class of Year 7 digital learners. We will share our learning journey with you on this site. We expect students to edit their own writing so sometimes what you will see is not error free but a work in progress! Mokoia is a community that values respect, honesty, relationships and learning. Please leave us a comment to encourage us. Enjoy!

Making Good Comments
This is a great video about making comments, made by the students in Mrs Yollis' class.:
Moana Reading Activity
Today you will be looking to find news on the internet.
Work your way around the sites listed below to find an article that interests you...
http://www.stuff.co.nz/
http://www.rotoruadailypost.co.nz/
http://www.nzherald.co.nz/
1) On your blog you will complete this activity
2) You need to write the title above for your heading
3) Link in the URL from your article and write a brief description of why that article interests you.
With journalism, the key in finding a good story to write about in the paper is you have to find what will interest the locals, what is 'NEWS' and choose an angle that will hook in your reader.
The process of writing the article involves asking the interviewee lost of questions....
Your job today is to find out what question would have been asked to get the answers that were written in the article.
1) List all the question in the post on your blog
2) Put these questions in order of what you view as being the most important facts in the story.
Think of WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, WHY and HOW
